Fan jetpacks?

Yeah. They definitely are based on that old Atari game H.E.R.O. That's the one where you go down into a cave and rescue miners. I actually get to throw in an Easter egg type reference to the game in one of my upcoming pages.

Fan jetpacks might actually solve the problem of the exhaust cooking the jetpack wearers behind. I think that's a big problem with most conceptions of jetpacks. Now imagine if these were worn by power armor wearing troopers. Then that exhaust, along with the heat generated by the jetpack itself would probably make things very uncomfortable inside the power armor suit. That suit will have its own heat to get rid of

Have you seen those "iron man" boots and gl9ves where people fly around? They are little jet engines and they have a back wearing one i think also but it is more like wings or somthing.

But you did give me an idea.

Like what about just really big drones like the size of those drone motorcycles they have now.

What if the drones (like a quad rotor) just took guys to locations and dropped them off then went to get someone else. They could just wear a harness and hook/unhook themselves

One thing I was thinking of is the "skimmer" from Hammers Slammers books by David Drake. From their description, they are something like the Bioroid Hovercraft in the Southern Cross portion of Robotech. The Bioroid armors themselves are actually like power armor.

I have heard of those Iron Man style jet boots and gloves. My only fear is that the thrust from each of those would have to be carefully calibrated to be equal or they risk throwing the wearer off balance or even giving them a hernia. So the only way I can picture it is if the boots were tied into one feed from. a thruster source which partitions the exhaust energy equally between the boots while allowing body english for maneuvering or taking impacts.

Yeah for that iron man stuff they say you need to train on a water version for however many hours to learn how to do it.

I never really considered the exhaust heatissue till you mentioned it tho.

You could accidentally burn off your ding dong aye

Have you seen gray digital target or spriggan? They are both on yt, you might like them

I have seen Grey Digital Target and have a few copies of the manga back when VIZ did the translation in 1989. I have heard of but never got around to seeing Spriggan. Have you ever heard of Armored Trooper VOTOMs? Kind of has that Starship Troopers vibe. In fact the main character, Chirico, might have had his name inspired by Juan Rico, the protagonist of Heinlein's book.

Yeah i have seen bits of votoms. Fascinating i never knew chiciro was a rip of rico. That is so wild. For some reason i thought votoms would be older than starship troopers.

It's like one of those Easter egg type shout outs to the ones who are in the know. I'm not sure if the VOTOMs creatorsvever confirmed or denied it. But I do remember Yoshiyuki Tomino bringing up Heinlein and Tarship Troopers as a Gundam inspiration. VOTOMS is a little closer because the mecha look like they could be built on tech we have today.

I told you about this when we first talked a while ago i dont know if you have already seen it. The startshio troopers anime. 6 episodes

I always thought it would make a new game. Like maybe you can get different better suits and weapons after completing more missions

I've been looking for the Starship Troopers anime. I think it's late 80s. I do remember vaguely the mecha design was somewhat similar to some of the bulky exosuits that got popular with titles like Appleseed.
